Astralintu secures Ecuador’s first ever private investment in the space industry from Grupo Futuro

Astralintu secures main investment by Grupo Futuro

Quito, October 2025 - Astralintu Space Technologies has secured Ecuador’s first ever private investment in the space industry, marking a turning point for the country’s emerging role in the global space economy. The investment, led by Grupo Futuro, one of Ecuador’s leading business groups, enables Astralintu to accelerate the creation of the first equatorial ground station network, an infrastructure designed to connect satellites with Earth from one of the most strategic yet previously unattended latitudes on the planet

The first node of this network, the Equatorial Stargate Ground Station, will be built in Ecuador at Latitude 0, becoming the nation’s first high capacity private teleport operating across S, X, and Ka bands. This facility will provide global satellite operators with high performance downlink and uplink services from one of the most efficient geographic positions on Earth.

Astralintu’s vision extends beyond Ecuador. Over the next two years, the company plans to expand its equatorial network to the Maldives, Tanzania, and Ghana, creating a distributed infrastructure that enhances coverage, resiliency, and data accessibility for the rapidly growing satellite ecosystem.

A New Gateway for Global Connectivity

“Space operators are increasingly looking to strengthen their ground segment capacity for equatorial and low inclination orbits. Our position at the heart of the world gives us natural advantages to deliver faster, more reliable connections while contributing to a more resilient and accessible global network. This alliance with Grupo Futuro marks the beginning of a national space ecosystem that will transform our production matrix toward one based on high technology, innovation, and the entrepreneurial spirit that defines Ecuador.”
- Matías F. Campos Abad, CEO of Astralintu Space Technologies

A Vision Shared by Ecuador’s Private Sector

“This investment reflects our conviction that Ecuador can compete at the highest level. We have a unique geographic position in the world that gives us natural advantages for developing space technologies. We believe in industries with a forward looking vision, those that generate knowledge, employment, and national pride.”
- Juan Carlos Berrú, Executive President of Grupo Futuro

The partnership between Astralintu and Grupo Futuro underscores the growing alignment between Ecuador’s private sector and the global NewSpace movement. Together, they are laying the foundation for a sustainable, locally driven space industry that generates knowledge, innovation, and opportunities from the heart of the planet
